Performance for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
Last night Belly Motions performed at the Shops at Sunset Place for a special cause in support of those who have been affected by Breast Cancer. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we wanted to make this community show a special one! If there's one thing that brings me lots of joy it is to see our students and dance colleagues performing for a good cause! We also invited one of our wonderful long-time student who is a breast cancer survivor, to perform and give a small and powerful speech on her story and how one can support and stay strong - it moved us all!
We had Portia's, Miss Luisa's, Yesenia's and Narayani's students perform along with some of our teacher solo's and a Zumba class demo to finish off with a bang. Miss P (Portia) is about to have beautiful baby number 2 and we caught it on film! She wanted this performance to be a special one for her little girl to see later - how super sweet! Portia performed to "Enta Omri" meaning "my love, my life," a classic Egyptian song sung by the legendary Om Kalthoum.
It was a fun night with our girls bonding, meeting new people and sharing a passion of theirs with the public - we even had one of our students come in celebration of her birthday! We are a supportive and happy little dance community - I wouldn't miss these community shows for anything!
