Connecting through dance - give it intention and a direction. What are you connecting with? An audience, the music, the ground, your emotions, your physical body, the unknown...?

One of my favorite things to add while I’m teaching my students is to blind the eyes and not look into the mirror. The mirror is a trickster. Tune into your body and ask yourself - how are you feeling?  What’s happening? If you’ve taken classes with me you’ve heard me say this plenty of times, hehe! I sound like a broken record sometimes, but hey! It’s important.

In dance connection begins - well - where you need it to! Trust in you that you know where to go. Listen and take in what lessons your instructors are teaching, but ask your heart if that’s right for you. Balance the flow of heart and mind.

Be honest, be true, be real. Do not be afraid of yourself, or what some call your “shadows.” Please, give yourself *time* to understand, that’s when the connection will start to happen. The peace that surrounds us after giving ourselves time is priceless.
